Borrowing Policies
Equipment is available to SUNY Potsdam affiliated users only. Loan limits may apply for Associated Colleges and Community Borrowers.

Are you taking online classes?
You can request home delivery of materials owned by Potsdam (books and articles only in print) if you live outside of these zip codes: 12949, 12965, 12967, 13613, 13617, 13621, 13625, 13652, 13658, 13660, 13647, 13667, 13668, 13672, 13676, 13677, 13678, 13680, 13687, 13694, 13696, 13697, 13699. Are you a Canadian MST Student?
You may request home delivery through ILLiad (Interlibrary Loan). For more information see Ottawa MST program services.
Fines and Fees
5 days late – $5 dollar late fee
15 days late – Late fee is assessed, plus a charge to replace the item, including a processing fee
Lost or returned damaged – A charge to replace the item, plus a $15 processing fee. The replacement fee is refundable for up to 60 days if the item is returned, but processing fees are nonrefundable.

Users with fees on their Library Account will be blocked from using library services (except reserve and in-house-use materials, excluding laptops) until the fees are paid and the block is removed.
SUNY Potsdam students with outstanding fees will have a hold filed against their records with the Office of Student Accounts.
Library Card
You must present your library card to borrow materials.
Faculty, Staff and Students
Your BearCard serves as your library card. Faculty/Staff may also request and use an Account Proxy Card.
Community Borrowers
Go to the circulation desk at either the Crane or Crumb Library with photo identification, drivers license or student ID, to obtain a library card.
